In an age where our lifestyle and surroundings are distinctly framed by artificial technologies and concrete infrastructures, ‘Landscape One’ envisions a world where exploited nature strikes back, destroying human civilisation, and reexamines the relationship between humanity and the natural world.

 

Expanding on J.B. Jackson’s Landscape Theory and the ancient religion of Animism, this project presents a series of sequential illustrations that follow an inquisitive adventurer’s journey in search of a scroll recorded with the lost human civilisation.

 

As the audience physically flips through the scroll, they are invited to step into the story, experiencing a journey similar to that of the protagonist in their own reality.
 

What would've our world looked like if we embraced a deeper connection with the natural world and prioritised ecological harmony over technological advancement?

 

What could we do to foster a harmonious coexistence in a world beyond the remnants of our current civilisation?
