Gwen Phoo graduated from London College of Communication, University of the Arts London (UAL), with a Bachelor of Arts (First Class Honours) in Illustration and Visual Media in 2023.

As an emerging illustrator, Phoo has gained international recognition through awards and competitions across Singapore, Hong Kong, Mainland China, Japan, and the United Kingdom. Her work 'Enchanted' was featured in the Global Design Graduate Show 2023. She is a World Illustration Awards Longlisted+Shortlisted Artist (2025) and has received the Most Creative Award (Professional Group) at the Singapore International Art Contest (2025), a Shortlist recognition at the 12th Hiii Illustration International Awards (2024), a Silver Award in Digital Painting at the Metropolitan International Youth Arts Festival (2024), and a Bronze Award at the JIA Illustration Award (2024).

As a self-driven arts administrator, Phoo has been actively expanding her engagement with the international art scene. She has participated in Singapore Art Week (2024, 2025), the Curatorial and AIR Programming Scheme at Taipei Artist Village (2022), and the Art Administration Talents Cultivation Programme at Art Taipei (2021).

She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Graphic Communication Design at Central Saint Martins (UAL) in the UK.
